HIPS (New Obligation For Sellers)

You will no doubt have read in the national press that the Government have now passed the legislation relating to what were known as “Sellers Packs” – and are now known as Home Information Packs.

The legislation is planned to take effect in early 2007 and will make it compulsory for a Home
Information Pack to be produced by sellers at their own cost before the sale process can commence i.e. before a property is put on the market.

This legislation is intended to speed up and improve the home selling process by requiring sellers to supply potential buyers with the information relating to their property that would normally only be supplied after a sale had been agreed.

If you should decide to sell your house and would like to adopt this new procedure now we are able to produce home information packs as a pre-sale service to our clients.
